One place where the 3x chip will outperform the 2x chip is number crunching. Normally, a laptop isn't a number crunching machine, of course, but this might slow down some communications as well (e.g., you're running Netscape with the IFS image rendering plugin...) On the other hand, the extra bucks might be better spent on more memory. - David R.
