Two DIMMs in TP760E problem?

I came across this message and wondered if anyone else was seeing this
problem:

I wrote about this awhile back. There is a problem with the DIMM
adapter when both sockets are used (for 16Mb machines, this means the
48Mb and 80Mb configurations). A replacement DIMM adapter is
available from IBM. I received mine about 2 weeks ago and have not
had a single lock-up since (and my machine would freeze virtually
every single time I booted up).

Call 1-800-772-2227 and explain your problem and say that you want the
replacement adapter. If you are not familiar with the process, be
certain you obtain both a case number and a Warranty Claim number from
the technician. The WC number is particularly critical as it is the
only way to track the progress of your replacement part with the
Denver, CO parts fulfillment center. I ordered my adapter on November
1st and it was delivered the next morning. Be patient and cordial
with the technician ... you never know what kind you will get. At
first, the technician I was dealing with expected me to pay for the
replacement!

By the way ... for my machine, I found I was able to operate with both
slots filled if I restarted the machine after booting. This means a
cold restart, not holding down the shift key while restarting
(assuming you're using Win-95).
