701 Keyboard

The keyboard of my 701 is extremely stiffy and I don't know
if this holds for all 701s or if its just characteristic of
the one I got. I use an old 720 and a 755CX, and I have used
some of the 350 Series - all of them being easier to use.

Has anyone the same problem and, possibly, got a replacement?
Does it make sense trying to get a replacement? (Some day, I read
that after some time the keyboard would get more responsive
but this doesn't seem to be the case). Or is there something one 
can do with the rubber beneath the keys (which is responsible
for this 'obstacle' to fast typing).
