Unresolvable mail address
A copy of your message is being returned to you because one or more of
the addresses you specified could not be recognized as addresses that are
understood by, or reachable from, this system.

Hi folk,
I have a question on using the DSP modem on TP755CX under Linux. Is this
possible?
I recently installed Linux and use LOADLIN to boot it from DOS, but I didn't
seem
to get any response from ttyS0 and ttyS1 even though the communication
software
(seyon) said the modem was available. I didn't even get a dial tone. However,
from the boot message, the kernel seemed to recongize 0x03f8 and 0x02f8 (irq
4 and
3 respectively) as 16550A.
Any assistance is appreicated.

I have a US machine (TP755CE) and I'm having absolute no problems
whatsoever over here in the Netherlands. I only had to disable dial-tone
detection ('ATX3' if I think - haven't looked at the extra command
dialogbox for a long time). For the rest it functions OK, and over here
we use the same telephone connectors as in the US. The socket in the
wall may be different, but all other connections - to the phone, TAM -
are made with those little jacks (RJ-11?).
At the moment my only trouble is that right now I do not have a fax
program working; for some reason FaxWorks gives an error message, and
quits immediatly? I think it worked before I upgraded to MWave 2.00 and
2.10 under Win95.

Hello,
can you help me please. I have new (about 2 months) notebook and
I`ve installed linux succesfully, network is working, CD drive is O.K.,
but I have problems with my sound card. Linux doesn`t find it during
startup - I read Sound-HOWTO and did changes to kernel, LILO and so on.
But nothing happens. Could you suggest me some docs or howtos about
this? I already have official TP FAQ.
The last thing it`s doesn`t work is my modem port (build in IBM
card). Is there any info about the modem under IBM TP?
My configuration: TP 755CD, internal IBM modem, 800 MB disk, 16 MB RAM
kernel 1.2.13, IBM pcmcia network card (works with pcmcia-cs-x.x.x),
sound card from IBM (looks compatible with SB [in DOS]).

While looking for information about remote controls and how data is encoded
in the signals, I noticed that there was a lot of good information, but
it seemed to be scattered around in different places on the net. I tried to
combine what I found into one big page on IR remote controls. A lot of
the information that you will find here is not my own work, but rather work

A number of us over here have tried, but can only get the SB part of the DSP
to work in Linux, not the modem. I have a strange feeling it may be to do
with the lack of DMA support in Linux, but would be most impressed if anyone
has had any luck.
