Hi Doug, I'm assuming you plugged in the power supply to the drive as well... You may want to call IBM Tech Support at 1-800-772-2227. They are generally pretty capable WRT installation and configuration issues. They helped me debug a DockII - Removable IDE drive problem with my 755CDV.
