I found this to be true with my TP 755C as well.  At first I was upset that 
IBM would do this, but then when I really thought about it, it was 
okay.  I have a port replicator at work that uses the original power 
supply. So, my TP will charge during the day at work. 

The new charger will charge my TP overnite if the TP is not turned on, 
and besides, I like the new compact package. I guess the net result 
is that I felt that I could live with it.
