well the 755CE is obviosuly obsolete, I can't believe IBM will be
making any more of them.

That EDU price is not specially wonderful. In todays Science Times, EXEL
advertises 755CE with 540 meg for $4195

other EXEL prices:  755C (50MHz 340/4) $2695
                    755CD (540) $5495
                    755CE (340) $3795
                    755CE (810) $4495

Newtech (1800-554-9747) advertises the 755CE with 540meg for $4188

RCS (my preferred vendor of these three, but I have dealt with all, and all
are reasonable) has no 755CE's advertised, they are advertising the 755CX
with 540 meg for $5499. 212-949-6935 [as for Ray, and  mentoin my name for
possible more personal service, since I have bought a bunch of thinkpads
from him] 

EXEL's number is 800-486-EXEL

All three places typically have TP's in stock for immediate sale.

So in short, the IBM EDU prices do not sound like they are worth bothering
with.
