RE: Space savings with newer MWAVE
I do not think you need the MWD stuff.....
Last weekend I re-installed my TP 760ED after formatting the hard
drive and I installed MWW 2.21 and then just installed 2.22 today with
no reported problems. The modem works the sound works and though I
have not played any games it passes all of the diagnostics in the new
test program.
I know that with ver 2.0 and 2.1x you needed the DOS stuff but when
they came out with a Win95 version I think that requirement was
lifted??

"...After installing MWave 2.22, I found I had about 60M more free
space on my
hard disk. That was a pleasant surprise. The reason is that the MWave
2.22
install specifically removes the MWD (Mwave for DOS) directory and all
the
stuff in it. Apparently, you could have manually done this with MWAVE
2.11,
but it mustn't have specifically done it as part of the setup (I think
I was
told I needed to put in MWD before loading MWW 2.11 when things didn't
work
well in my last upgrade, but my assumption now is that the advise was
incorrect). ..."

not exactly. you *do* need to install mwd 2.x before installing mww
2.11
because the files need to be there for the mww installation, but not
to
actually use it. you got good advice, just incomplete advice.
install mwd
2.x, then install mww 2.11, then you can deltree \mwd. it's nice to
see that
ibm's engineers are starting to be proactive about it, though.
