Not only that, it supports a different resolution on the screen 
than on the LCD.  I discovered this while playing with the Win3.1
that came preinstalled.  I started Windows at 800x600 on an external
monitor.  I got curious what would happen if I switched to the LCD
so I did, and got a 640x480 viewport onto a virtual 800x600 desktop
("push" the mouse pointer "past" an edge to scroll the viewport
around the desktop).  Then I got curious what would happen if I
switched to simultaneous display.  800x600 on the monitor, 640x480
viewport onto 800x600 on the LCD.  Cool!  :)
