Hi
I have a 760CD with 40MB RAM and the 28.8 modem as well as the standard
stuff (90mz Pentium, 4xCD-ROM, 1.2GB hard drive, 1.44MB floppy.
Operating systems - PC-DOS 7.0 and Windows 3.11. I use it in place of a
desktop machine at work. Main software is MS Office Pro 4.3 but I am
trialing Kolvox LawTalk 3.0 using the Kurzweil 2.0 speech engine.
Connection to my office Unix system is serial through Procomm Plus for
Windows 3.0.
I am generally very pleased with the machine but found it difficult to
get information to supplement the meagre manuals. However, I have now
found this group, IBM's ThinkPad pages and the Watson Mwave site. I
have downloaded the latest BIOS and drivers and propose to attempt to
update the machine shortly.
I would like to uprgade the processor to 120mz but I do not know whether
the upgrade is available in the UK or what it might cost.
Has anyone done the processor upgrade? Is it easy? Is it worth doing?
