Well, I can tell you what I paid, in aug 95:
750c, 340 meg drive, 8 meg ram added (12 total), XJ2144 modem, 2
batteries, IBM quick charger/discharger   $1350

I think mono might be a plus for those wanting to use a notebook in
outdoor light.
