750 screen-help!

I have a TP750, mono screen.  About 12 months ago, I had screen
problems, so I had IBM replace the whole screen panel, etc., as
it was still under warranty.  It is no longer under warranty, and
I am having the following problem. I can't afford IBM's prices
for non-warranty repairs, and was wondering if anyone has had this
problem and fixed it on their own...

The screen is apparently dual scan (passive matrix). The lower half
of the screen is apparently made up ofvertical lines, as every other
(maybe every third?) line is no longer functioning on the lower half
of the screen. How can I fix this?
