I love this /proc file system stuff.

And yes sir, if I boot with the CD installed, interrupt 12
gets assigned to my "i82365" whatever that is.  (Surely, the
drive controller.)  If I boot with the FD installed, interrupt
12 gets assign to the mouse...

OK, problem identified.  Now, what to do about it?
