The IRDA looks just like a null modem cable.  You can use a terminal
program with it.  You're not limited to Laplink and its ilk.  In fact,
you're better off testing if it works with a terminal program.  That
way even if all your settings aren't right, you'll probably still see
something to indicate it's working.

I tried my JetEye on my TP750 with the IR on my 701 and it didn't
work.  It works fine with desktop systems, so I suspect the 750's
serial port doesn't put out enough power to operate it.

Does anyone have the external power supply for the JetEye?  The
power connector looks like it takes a DC current, but is nonstandard.
Anyone know how many volts/amps it takes?
