After reading my 760C documentation concerning this, it would appear the
supervisor or hard disk passwords are not resettable, as you were told by
IBM.  Since I've not heard of any way to get past this, your request has
prompted me to provide my supervisor password to management, just in
case.  If by chance you do find a way, please let us know it's
possible.

I do like this feature though.  The stories I've heard about securing PC
access on boot, floppy or idle timeout using some add on security
software is rife with support problems and system crashes.  And we know
that using non volatile memory for power on password is just an
annoyance to thieves and the like.  This method avoids messing with my
operating system(s) or boot record.  All computers should have this
security feature.  It should make the system less attractive to theft if
it can't be used without replacing the system board and hard drive.
