portable cd-rom drives

i have to replace a portable cd-rom -rom drive
for my thinkpad 750ce (wfwg 3.11)

had a nec multispin 3xp+ 

requirements:

1. portable (meaning light, small, dc powered)

2. useable with pc or mac (meaning scsi)

any expereince with the panasonic 4x portable?
anything better on the horizen?
