   The Red Hat distribution doesn't cost anything either unless you want
   direct email/phone support and/or a copy on CD-ROM.  Their email
   mailing list is free too.

I see -- I hadn't realized this.  I had scanned their release
announcements and concluded that it was a commercial distribution.  I
guess I should have read it more closely.
