TP 701 & LINUX

I am running linux and win95 on my TP 701C .  I am wondering
what configurations others are using for Linux on a TP 701. 
Most specifically Video, and sound.  I am running X86free in
640x480x256, however I am using a 'generic' svga type of
configuration.  I would like to have 800x600x256 if possible
, and if there is support for it what ever accelleration
that the ct&t video has.    At current I do not have any
sound support loaded either.  The web page for thikpads just
leaves me questioning what applies to me  (my 701).

which brings me to my next point.  Where are the TP 701
people.  Did they leave the group is there another group
forming/that formed for 701 users?
