Re: Disk slower in 755CX




It's a suprise to me, however IDE drives _are_ PIO, meaning that the CPU 
is involved in the transfer of data. I'm amazed that would have any 
impact - the disk is SO much slower than the CPU or memory - but it's 
theoretically possible that the recovery time from all those interrupts 
is marginally faster on the faster computer.

However, that big a difference... I'd be highly skeptical it could be 
related to the computer's speed. <shrug>
