FS: (used) IBM DVAA-2810 810 MB Notebook Drive for Thinkpad (fwd)

I spotted this in comp.sys.laptops. Darin Ernst is the guy who made
the WD90C24 mini-HOWTO for Linux at http://www.castle.net/~darin, so
he's probably trustworthy.

I have the following *IBM* 810 MB notebook drive for sale:

o IBM model DVAA-2810, OEM P/N 84G3012
o 2.5" 19mm form factor
o This was the first and only 810MB notebook drive for several months
o Removed from new Thinkpad by dealer (I was told), purchased by me 1/4/95
o Lower power consumption and faster access time than comparable Toshiba
o Compatible with Thinkpad 360/755
o In perfect condition and working order

I will offer it two ways:

a) Bare drive, without the Thinkpad carrier (plastic case), for use in other
notebooks (but I can only guarantee that it works in a Thinkpad):

                          $500 + shipping, non-neg.

b) With an original IBM Thinkpad carrier, ready to fit into Thinkpad 360/755

                          $600 + shipping, non-neg.

The current price for configuration (b) at NECX is $1180 for IBM part #84G8250,
810MB IBM drive in carrier. I checked 2 other vendors, which were higher.

In addition, I have a Toshiba MK2526FC, used 2 weeks. This is a
2.5" 19mm 520MB drive from a Twinhead Slimnote 5, which is the same
machine as the HP4000, Sharp PC8700/8900, and Altima Virage II.
I would like $400 for this drive (will consider providing carrier for
this notebook), but will consider reasonable offers.

Thanks,

Darin
