I have to chime in and say all I have had are problems interfacing a Xircom
Ethernet + Modem I (10bT & V.32Terbo) to my TP755C. Each time I Email
cs@xircom.com, I get a "new or different" way to get the card to work.
Their redirector for DOS doesn't work, so the modem us useless to me. It
took me a month to get the card to be recognized, but WfWG hangs on start
up every time. When I emailed tech support, they had a whole new set of
rules to get it to work in a "work around" type of way. They want me to
flash upgrade, but the 755 just gags on it. I also noticed "work around"
methods for 750's too. I ended up throwing up my hands and ordering a
Megahertz Xjack. Now that was easy, seamless installation. I had it working
in a few minutes. It also runs beautifully in DOS and Windows. I would
wholeheartedly recommend this unit to anyone. Meanwhile, the $500 Xircom
card is gathering dust. I would like to hear from other people who have
either had problems or actual easy installs with Xircom PCMCIA cards in
their ThinkPads.
