After being started by the user through the engine GUI,
the worker client's engine runs in a loop repeatedly requesting work
from the work manager (through the advocate),
processing the work, and sending back done messages after
the work is processed. While the work data is being processed, any
new results or new work it generates is passed to the engine, which
then forwards it to the manager (either immediately, or with the
done message). The work data can also use the work GUI to indicate
its progress to the user.
