I will present a very informal discussion of some of the ideas and programs I have been playing with trying to parse medical text. I have adapted a large part of the UMLS Specialist lexicon to become usable by the Link Parser, and I will describe some of the more interesting aspects of doing this. I will also present mostly speculations on next steps, and hope to interest others in helping.
