I like DO. I don't think I need to repeat Steele's defense of it, which was posted one of the previous times this came up. Named LET is there in the report, under a separate heading from LET (somewhere near DO, I think -- probably why you missed it, sorry). The macro proposal still needs some work. For example, it lacks a user interface.
