Title: Simulating Routing Protocols over Virtual Nodes Speaker: Mike Spindel Place: 32-G531 Time: 1-2:30pm Date: Friday, September 21, 2007 Abstract: Virtual nodes offer a convenient abstraction to programmers writing software for ad-hoc wireless networks, and one promising application for them is routing over multihop ad-hoc networks. One of the primary tools for evaluating new routing protocols is simulation. Yet simulating routing protocols in a mobile ad-hoc environment can be a time-consuming task that often requires detailed knowledge of simulator specific interfaces. In this talk, I will discuss a framework for simulating wireless applications that attempts to ease development by using familiar system interfaces, and a set of planned of simulation experiments to evaluate virtual node based routing protocols.
