Test of construct validity is proposed as follows:
Assess both a health status measure (eg SF-36) and individualized patient perspective immediately prior to an d after a healthcare visit. Follow up with a both again 2-3 weeks after the visit. See if an anticipated change in perspective (in whole or in part) is detected between the first two assessments. See if an anticipated stability in the perspective is evident between the second in cases where the health status measure supports an assumption of no change in state.
