Marcella Conforto Boffa, violinist, departed this world on November 18, 1998 to take her divine musical gift to Heaven's Orchestra. She was born July 14, 1915 in Rome, Italy to Francesco Paolo and Guiditta (Parboni) Conforto. She graduated Cum Laude from The National Conservatory of St. Cecilia, Rome, 1933, M.M. 1939. She came to the U.S. in 1939 and was naturalized in 1952. Solo violin recitals leading music halls, Europe 1933-1939. Prof. Violin Manhattanville Coll., 1941-43, 1st Violin St. Louis Symphony Orchetra 1943-49, Mem. St. Louis String Quartet 1946-48, 1st Violin Houston Symphony Orchestra 1949-78, Rai Torino 1980-81, Who's Who of American Women 1973. Marcella was a devoted mother and is survived by her four children: Judith of Rome, Italy and granddaughter Emily Lolli, Marco of L'Aquila, Italy and wife Anna Maria Vivio, Bruno of Houston and wife Julie Sanders, Andrew of Houston, and niece Giuliana Conforto of Rome, Italy. She touched the lives of many with her splendid talent through her playing and teaching. The family would like to extend special thanks to all for their kindness and support, and especially to Dr. Rita Levi Montalcini, Leo and Marilyn Doyle, Dr. William and Maisie Cole. Memorial Services will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3600 Travis, 11/23 at 1:00.
