Welcome, new member of the Computer Game-Playing mailing list.  Here
is some information to get you started.

* The list is unmoderated.  To post a message to the list, simply
	mail your message to games@medg.lcs.mit.edu, and it will
	automatically be forwarded to the list.

* The list is intended for announcements and requests (but not
	prolonged discussions) related to research in the field of
	Computer Game-Playing.  Examples of appropriate messages are
	announcements of conferences and workshops, announcements of
	electronically-available papers and programs, requests for
	references, relevant book reviews, bibliographies, etc.

* Associated with the mailing list is an FTP site available to the
	community for distribution of materials, such as programs,
	papers, and other files, that are related to the field.  To
	access the FTP site:
		FTP to medg.lcs.mit.edu, login anonymous, any
		password, cd /pub/games
	or
		Visit the page "http://medg.lcs.mit.edu/ftp/games"
		on the World-Wide Web.
	or
		In emacs version 19 and up: C-x C-f
		/ftp@medg.lcs.mit.edu:/pub/games
	or
		If you have the Alex filesystem: cd to
		"/alex/edu/mit/lcs/medg/pub/games"

* A complete archive of the mailing list is available at the FTP site
	in the file "mailing-list/games-archive.mail", in Unix mail
	format (readable using "mail -f filename").

* To add or remove yourself from the mailing list, either send mail
	to the maintainer at games-request@medg.lcs.mit.edu or edit
	the file "mailing-list/games.mailing-list" at the FTP site.
