In this paper, we showed the very same high-level abstractions which gave rise to structures like line segments and simple text are also capable of supporting protocols which provide many of the services that self-adapting software ought to have. We outlined situations where representational organization may be easy to achieve using GPL, ECOLI, and HLSIM. Future work includes providing rollback-recovery algorithms which bring a damaged structure into a consistent, and outlining a meta-language which could build on GPL to provide semantic reasoning to help the structure allocate the right resources to repairing itself.
