Agarose Gel

Materials:

Methods:

  1. To make tex2html_wrap_inline3633 agarose mix for either large (120 ml) or small (60 ml) gel cast, pour into jar:

  2. microwave jar (120 ml for 1:20 min, 60 ml for 1 min). Open and shake jar after 3/4 of the elapsed time has passed. Note: make sure cap is loose before putting jar into microwave!
  3. Cool agarose to about tex2html_wrap_inline4641 , or place in the tex2html_wrap_inline4641 water bath until ready to use.
  4. Put gel tray in casting tray with tape or end gates. Make sure the cast fits tightly, and set on level portion of the bench.
  5. Pour the agarose into the casting tray to a depth of 4 to 5 mm. Place a tooth comb in the appropriate slot in the casting tray.
  6. Allow the gel to solidify on your bench (for about 10 minutes).
  7. The wells from the different tooth combs hold the following amounts:
