SECE/AUT -- "SeeSawt" Project
SECE/AUT: "Cease what you're doing; do what you AUT." -- where SE stands for Structured Explanation, CE stance for Concept Engineering, so SECE is "Structured Explanation through Concept Engineering". AUT is "Applied Understanding Technology" in both of its parses [<applied <understanding technology>> and <<applied understanding>technology>]. Underlying it all is SADTR which is "Structured Analysis DTR" (Douglas T. Ross) -- "Doug Ross" -- i.e. SA as I originally conceived it (in 1972, as the next step after AED, the world's first software engineering language, "Automated Engineering Design" or "Algol Extended for Design" in the MIT CAD Project).
SADT is the trademarked "Structured Analysis and Design Technique" system of SofTech (now DTR's responsibility) where SA is Structured Analysis, the mental discipline of well-structured thought -- in fact, the engineering of thought, itself -- and also is the SA Language, proper -- the basic box-and-arrow total duality of modeling in terms of Things and Happenings (as Data and Activities), with natural-language box-Names and arrow-Labels. DT is the Design Technique which actually embodies the entire SADT methodology and also is the pragmatics of the SA language (in use) -- including the all-important Reader/Author Cycle which is what allows the natural-language terminology for any modeled subject to formally be used.
RSADT is "Rigorous SADT" or "Ross's SADT" or "RSA DT" -- where "RSA" is the 1979 multi-modeling extension of the box-and-arrow language base of SA to the triangles-and-circles operator notations of the "RSA Design Language" (RSADL)
synaptic-gap/semantic and syntactic/structural connection notations and free-form graphic operators (still only partially but suggestively defined and ready for open-system development) provides the final cap stone of SECE/AUT "see saw(t)" (See Sought) technology.
"See and Say" is the formalism of Plex (formal Sayings and formal Seeings) -- set-theory-free, pre-mathematics (and pre-<formal logic>) -- supported only by See and Say PLM Picture Language Modeling. which is my current understanding of the closure of what I hope can be recognized to indeed be the beginning of a complete technology for what my actual life's work has all been about. I need this ambitious program to be brought to a successful launch through MIT's new (and still in its infancy) MEng Degree Program, and I hope that what I am laying down here can quickly find its place in the hopes and hearts of the undergraduate, graduate, and post graduate populations -- and, from them, even the non-student teachers and researchers of all interests and persuasion's -- in all the schools and departments at MIT.
[I now do not transcribe the overblown end of this dictation.]
