palpus, borne on a dktinct, swollen,
palpifer, is long and &-segmented. The
Jabf%m-@$~&?y?~~ (fig. I I A, 2. cj.) is short and well chitinized. The h)@-
jha~ynz is short and pointed.
Stygtro$is sp. This genus has the
~nouthparts in the same general condi-
tion as Bol~rusia. The maxillae how-
ever present no trace of lobes. The
paraglossae of the labium are fused for
about half their length, are heavily
chitinized at the oilier margins and
have pseudo-tracheae, 01 the cliarxter
of those in Holowsia, namely a few
large main trunks, and numerous small,
inconspicuous, delicate, transversal ones. E$zda @, In Tgda (fig. K I, B, Zi)
the fusion of the paraglossac extends
farther and the system 01 pseudo-
tracheae is better developed, the trans- versal ones being larger and more dis-
rinct than in Holo~z~siu.
The mouthparts of the Tipulidae are
borne at the anterior extremity of an
aiiterior prolongation of tl>e head cap- sule. The mouthparts themselves are
not elongated ; the maxillary palpi, how- ever, are especially longer and slender, A NEW LITHOSIAN,

Ozodania PZ. g~t. - Head prominent, ton- gue distinct, coiled; 1m1e antennae simple; no ocelli. Palpi slender, upturned, reaching to middle of front; legs moderahe, hind
tibiae with four spws. Fore wings 8lightly over Lwice as long is broad; 12 veins, 7 to 9 stalked, the rest from the cell ; hind whgs wit11 vein 2 remote from 3 the yest evenly spaced, 6 and 7 slalked, 8 joining the s111)- costal for two-thirds Llie length of the cell; outer ma~giri excavate, the anal angle pro- diiced; anal hairs of male conspic~~o~~s but not reaching the end of the body.
Type the following: -
Ozudn&a schwca~zio~um n. s$. - Fore wing blackish lcad color, a broad npright orange yellow band resting 011 the lobe at inner angle where the color becomes crimson ; a similar stripe along intcrnal mkgh, scarcely attaining the upright bald, tonched with crimson at base. Hind wings reddish pink, costal margin yellowish, a minute or distinct leadcn apical band. Thorax gray ; vertex of head, collar and patagia orange ~ellwv abdomen pinkish red ; legs gray and yelloxr- ish. Wings below wit11 the gray ground
color more or less replaced by reddish. In the A~izona specimeu the gray parts are as on the upper side, but the pale parts red and broader ; ii~ the Mexicai~ specimen the gi-ay is reduced to a s1d1 apical and basal patch on fore IV~II~S and is absent on hind wings. Expanse 16 rnm.

Thk genus stands between Cisthene and
Odvmna.
From the former it diHers in the
form of the hind wings and. a slight enlarge- ment on the outer angle of fore vings ; from the latter, in thc very slight development of the a1m1 l~airs and in the longer palpi (Valker says those of Oduztz~m are porrect and do not exceed the head).

Mexico before. I can only account for its absence from the DioIogia Cent.-Amer. by supposing that it has been confounded with Cisthme wn$ascia, which it greatly resembles in markings.
ALEURODICUS MIRABILIS.
dlew~oda mi~u&iIis Ckll., Psyche, June
1898,p. 225. Prof. C. 11. T. Townsend found this species in quantity at Mi~~atitIai~, Mex- ico, April $5,. 1898, on the under side of Anona leayes. Fortunately, he secured a
single 8 adult, which shows that the insect belongs to AZewodicz~s. The anterior wings are slightly over 2 mm. long, and about I+ mm. broad; white, with two very pale grey bands; the first crossing the wing just before the fork of Lhe median vein, but interrupted for a space below the vein; the second a dilute transverse cloud not far from the apex of the w-ing. Body about 2 mm. long, exclu- sive of the forceps, wllich is about $ mm. Color of body aud legs very pale yellow; base of abdomen white; thorax between
wings light orange. Antennae omngc at
the middle. Eyes pale greenish, not divi- ded. Easily known from A. anome Mor-
gan, by the markings on the wings of the adult, and thc lingua longer than the sper- cdum in the pupa.

PROCEEDINGS OF THE CLUB.
13 JAXUARY, 1899 (cont.). Mr. J. W,
Folsom said that Tsotoma 6esscZsii Pack. had not been recordcd since its original descrip- tion from specimens found in 1872 by the 'rPolaris" expedition in lat. 81O 20'-81~ 50' N., hnt that he bad foun&Lhis interesting collembolan in abundance last October on our own coast, occurring in large colonies under stones between tide-marks. Mr.
Folsom added that his examples of this well- marked species agree perfectly with Pack ard's types, which he had already studied through the courtesy of the U. S. National Museum. A disc~~ssion followed as to the probable influence of ocean currents in
disseminating maritime species.
