Thinkpad 760CD second HDD

I have just recently got a second HDD adapter for my Ultra Bay, I am
using a hard drive that I used to use in my primary drive bay,
therefore, it already has the OS on it (along with lots of other
trash).  I would like to reformat the drive, but every time I try W95
tells me that the drive is in use and won't let me, anybody else ever
seen this....

I don't know about this part.  I would like to configure the second HDD
to be drive E:.  Currently, a: - floppy c:HDD d:CD-ROM and when the
second HDD is in it goes to drive D: and won't let me modify it.
