There is a chance that the 750 is setting your drive to Slave mode through
the set of pins on the end of the drive connector (those closest to the end
of the group of 4 separated from the rest of the pins). If you have a manual
for the drive, compare the pin configurations with those of the IBM drives.

If they are incompatible, you may have to take steps to "open" the
connection between those two last pins. I have read here that some people
have done it with tape on the IBM carrier connector. Others have cut pins or
solder paths on their drives. For any of this, you better be pretty sure
about what you are doing first. Learn more about it and then...good luck.
