For a 701C, could someone recommend shareware (or commercial software) to transmit files between a laptop and a desktop? My favorite for this purpose (assuming you're using dos/windoze) is the Interlnk/intersvr utility that comes with dos 6. I'm not sure if it's still included with w95 but w95 probably has something comparable otherwise.
