Looking for Ribbon for thinkpad LCD and harddrive password bypass

Hello,
        I have a TP 755 SCE and forgot the HD password. I tried to get into
the machine to jump a jumper to reset the password and I damaged the LCD
cable (very fragile.) IBM wants $1000.00 for the ribbon because they don't
sell it with out the LCD. Does any one have any idea's for me. Greatly
appreciated.
