External MIDI on 755CD

I have tried just about everything to get external MIDI to work on my TP
755CD running WIN 95. I finally verified that the Joystick port works for
Joysticks. But when I do Midi, I get no error messages, and nothing comes
out of my synth. Connecting the synth to a desktop with a SB card works
fine. Internal Midi synth works fine.

One strange thing is that the MIDI setup seems to have no option for
defining instruments. It seems that would be critical to doing channel and
voice mappings. I can't find access to the equivalent of the Midi Mapper
with the Mwave MIDI support.

Has anyone gotten this to work? If so, how are you set up?
