What I'm getting at is that you absolutely have a point when
considering machines across different models/platforms, *especially* between
makes, etc.

But for the same make/model made at about the same time with no
changes in design or architecture, the assumption that a P133 is about
10-11% faster (and not particularly any more) than a P120 is quite
reasonable, IMO.

My guess is my P120 560 might well be on the slower side compared to
many other notebook P120's, but I guess that's part of the tradeoff not to
have to carry an extra 3 1/2 lbs everywhere I go (hey, that's *almost*
another 560! I could carry *two* of them!). It also doesn't get
particularly hot like the 750 and 701 I've owned did (and apparently many
other models of thinkpad have, based on the comments to this list). Though
the "wrist wrest" area in front of the keyboard on the left side does get a
bit too warm--probably where they put the CPU!

Great idea. I'll volunteer to do it on my P120 560, perhaps even my
wife's 701C 486-75. Do you have the FTP/Web site where I can get the test
suite?

You're one of the blessed few. :-)
