I'm new to all this, but I thought you can not use the modem at 28.8
speed *and* play sound.  I know I couldn't the other day (couldn't
play a .WAV file while I was logged in on the Internet).

Someone else a while back said you'd have to go at 14.4 speed to do
that (I haven't tried that yet)..  The reason is that the Mwave chip
handles the modem and the sound and it apparently can't quite do it
all.  Corrections welcome to this information - I could be wrong.
