As with other posts I find curious battery /charging events from time to
time on my 701..

Notably when reading 40 or 50% remaining battery rapidly goes to zero.   In
spite of "battery conditioning" efforts he original nicad went from 40% to
stone dead and then never came back.   It happened when I plugged in the
charger while reading posts on batteries!   IBM repaced it with a new nimh
which works much better  but sometimes the rapid drop off seems to still happen.

 BTW: IBM service was faster than they pomiced and they were curtious and
helpful big time.

I hope that this level of service/support continues.   Service and support
is where its at.....and I am always surprised to read posts of unhappy
service experiences.
