701 bios upgrade question

I recently grabbed the 3o bios update and was reading the instructions. I
am not compuer illiterate but the instructions and associated warnings have
made me very leery to attempt the upgrade. 

How many people have done the bios upgrade without hassles? How many have
horror stories to tell? And are there any words of wisdom/warning anyone
cares to offer before I attempt this?
