if you want to see poor performance, try running a java applet on 
win95 on a thinkpad ;)   i have a 755cx with 24 MB RAM and the java
apps just do not run much at all. anyone out there running netscape 2.0,
try getting anything off of http://www3.gamelan.com to go.  Hit on
The Impressionist, that is a benchmark of sorts.
