After yesterday and this morning, I don't think I can, anymore, either!

I have a system with a USR 28.8 that doesn't have the problems, either.

I am not on Netcom, however. Frankly, as a networking kinda guy, I think
it's likely to have something to do with the TTL values, lost packets, or
corruption of the transmission. I think the MWave 28.8 is buggy, in short.
I'm wondering if the 14.4 code paths are the same as they used to be, but
the 28.8 paths are all new and have some timing problems (my suspicion at
this point).
