I know there are some issues with the dock and linux, but I'd also add 
that my observations have been that funny problems like this are usually 
a result of BIOS version. Have you updated the BIOS since you bought the 
unit? (updates are available on ftp.pcco.ibm.com in /pub/mobiles)
