My commnet on Lithium Polymer

Wow, didn't mean to scare anybody on my recent post.  Let me clarify my
statement...
A couple of years ago I was doing some techincal education on storage
technologies for the IBM PC Company.  My team was training the Marketing
Specialists to get them 
more techinical on all aspects of PC technology.  One of my partners was
involved in explaining future technology and was in contact with various PC
manufacturers.  
 
This was before Lithium Ion batteries.  We all new that Lithium would soon
be used in batteries at some point but what surprised us was the fact that
we were told that Lithium could be mixed with (and I'm using layman terms)
other chemicals to form a polymer that was essentially like the plastic
casing on our TPads.
 
The implications seemed obvious - - instead of carrying around the extra
weight of the battery, your entire case becomes your battery.  Pretty cool idea.
        
The problem, we were told was that that polymer was not stable.  I'm quite
sure those of you lucky enough to have the Lithium Ion batteries are quite
safe and need not worry about any instability.  My comment was made in jest
and lets hope that they do in fact someday get it to work correctly.  I for
one would love to get rid of the extra weight of a battery.
