Guy, my old 700C had very tight hinges and the right hand hinge finally
broke open. My 700C came with on-site warranty for the first year and my
IBM guy fixed it by replacing the whole color display. I imagine that you
will have to get your display replaced by IBM also. Of course you run the
risk of getting a perfect display replaced with one that has a few bad
pixels. I was lucky--the replacement screen on my 700C had no bad pixels at
