	Not true--both have contrast and brightness controls.  The contrast
control works rather differently on the active screen vs. the passive
though.

	In terms of "looks", the active is clearly--by every measure--
superior to the passive.  Brighter, clearer...it was enough to make
me send my passive screen back and pay the extra for the active.

	However, a dual-scan passive still sports a perfectly workable
screen that looks quite decent.  For the budget-conscious, it works
perfectly well.  The active is clearly superior, but the passive certainly
isn't bad (as long as its dual-scan).
