I noticed the same problem.  I also noticed it was because the num/scroll
lock light kept going on on a random keystroke.  The problem went away when
I got rid of QwikSwitch (which lets you switch between apps with hotkeys).

I'm not sure these two are the same problem.  Does the problem with QVTNet
manifest itself because the numlock gets turned on automatically?  Or does
the problem exist no matter what you num/scroll lock settings?
