I am sorry to report that Bob Hieb was killed along with his 11 year
old daughter in a car accident last Thursday morning.  Bob has been
actively involved in the Scheme revised report and IEEE standardization
efforts for several years.  He would have finished his Ph.D. degree
here at I.U. sometime within the next several months.  Bob had a great
deal of potential and his death is a great loss to us all.

A memorial fund has been established to help support Bob's wife Chris
Schleicher and their 9 year old son through the rough times ahead.
Interested parties may send a check made out to the Robert Hieb
Memorial Fund to the attention of Lorne Aubin, Trust Department, Monroe
County Bank, 210 E. Kirkwood Ave., Bloomington IN 47401.
