Class 11 -- Week of class on November 13
In class this week
There will be no readings for this week. Please use the time to work
on your paper.
In class, we will ask each person to stand up and give a 5-minute
talk on your plans for your paper. Present your thesis, the main
arguments you plan to make in supporting your thesis, and some
references and resources you plan to consult in doing the research for
your paper.
This is essentially the same assignment that you need to do for
the rotisserie, but this will give to an chance to be a little more
expansive on what you are planning, and to get feedback.
Don't use any projection or fancy stuff for your talk -- just talk.
Final paper
This week's rotisserie assignment asks you to give a detailed outline
of showing all the major sections, and itemizing the major points
to be made by each section.
Unlike the previous two weeks, there will be a feedback
round to this assignment, asking you to give some helpful comments on
your colleague's work.
